“The Scorpion Zero A/S is a very short lived tire. 11k seems nuts, but after taking a set of Pilot Sport 4 A/S for a 50k lap over a couple of years I replaced them with Pirellis thinking I was getting a better deal. They started losing chunks of tread within 5k and were almost bald after 20 (1 year for me). Never again.”

“Time to start considering my next set of tires Bought my used 2010 Lexus RX450h a few years ago, and the tread is starting to get shallow, after putting about 30k on the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season tires that came with the vehicle (vehicle is at 116k total). I've been very happy with the performance I've received on the Pirelli tires; especially in heavy rains. The one thing I haven't really done is take them to the snow. But, with that said, I've been looking at other brands. The Bridgestone Blizzak and UltraWeather tires carry 80k mile warrantees, and are less expensive. Plus, the latter has the 3PMSF rating along with the M+S, so it's actually rated for snowy conditions. There's also the Michelin CrossClimate 2 to consider. Am I giving up performance in rainy conditions by going with the higher snow rated tire? The Pirelli tires are about $30ish more per tire. In the scheme of things is $100-120 per set in the scheme of things? What other brands/models are people using that gives them really good performance in rain, with some trips to the snow/ice country? “Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season NCS These are size 245/45 R21 104W XL. Look at the tread. Has anyone seen this happen before? I’ve put 40K miles on these tires and all 4 of them look like this. Never in my life have I owned tires that have worn down in this way. I only drive on the street to and from work. Would this be considered a defect? Tire people say this is caused by driving on dirt roads or gravel but I have never done that. (PS I bought the Range Rover brand new from the dealership) anyone recommend a tire that won’t do this? “I bought a set of 20” M-wheels when I my X5 was at around 2k miles. I had fitted Pirelli scorpion zero runflats on it. At 65k miles, they had to be replaced due to compound cracking, thread was still at 5 to 6/32. I think they served me well.”

It appears that there's only one tire to choose from for 19 inch wheels - the OEM Pirelli Scorpion Verde. They don't get great reviews compared to other brands available on 20/21/22 inch wheels. I don't have any experience with anything else to compare on this vehicle. I can get some 21 inch wheels for $1200 locally and there are a lot of tire options.
